Hot Line Construction, Inc., an 800-vehicle mixed fleet contractor, was mid-demo of a predictive maintenance platform when the system flagged a coolant issue on a vehicle. The driver was confident he could make it back to the yard, just five miles out. The data said stop.
By stopping the vehicle, Hot Line avoided a roughly $40,000 engine replacement that day. Before the platform, the company lost one engine per year to critical failure. That's a loss they now prevent every year.
Maintenance is not just a repair strategy
The shift predictive maintenance enables is straightforward. Maintenance teams spend less time reacting to what's already broken and more time preventing the compounding damage that happens when a minor issue goes unaddressed in the field.
For fleets running on project timelines, that means fewer vehicles pulled from active jobs. Fewer gaps in crew productivity. Fewer situations where pulling resources from one project creates a second problem downstream.
